Hotel Porta Faenza borns from the restructuring of Palazzo Pegna (1700), home of a well-known family of Florentine merchants. It is situated in the Via Faenza, near to one of the gates in the wall which on the XV century surrounded the city. Here you still breath the atmosphere of the old house (the terracotta, the stonework and the fine collection of old tools on display all around the hotel) and this, combined with every modern comfort, makes our hotel your ´home´ in the very heart of Florence. This beautiful 18th.cent.building has been completely refurbished internally: elevator, air-conditioning, sound-proof rooms, some are equipped for the disabled. The reception area has a bar and a pleasant breakfast room. All the 25 rooms are nicely furnished and with ensuite bathrooms. All have sat TV, direct-dial phones, air conditioning, minibar and safe box. It is conveniently located near the central train station of S.M.Novella, and just steps away from the converence Hall and the exhibiting grounds of the Fortezza da Basso. the hotel have an agreemnt with a private garage near the hotel for a daily fee of 23.00 euro (or 28,00 for oversize cars) per day with pick-up and delivery service included. |
